SouthPark Dog Parks

  • William R. Davie Regional Dog Park

    4635 Pineville-Matthews Road Charlotte, NC 28226

Want to take your dog outside to enjoy some exercise and socialization at one of the SouthPark dog parks? Skipper’s favorite dog park close to SouthPark is the William R. Davie District Park. Featuring a five acre, fenced-in, off-lease area for dogs, William R. Davie District Park gives your 4-legged friend lots of room to roam. There are two separate fenced-in secure sections to the new dog park, one for dogs more than 20 lbs and the other for dogs less than 20 lbs. This ensures your pet is around other dogs similar in size to make them comfortable. Dog parks allow dogs to get adequate physical and mental exercise, lessening the chance of destructive behaviors. Pack a lunch for yourself and your dog and ensure that you have plenty of water to give them after playing in William R. Davie District Park.

  • Park Road Park

6220 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210

Located near the heart of SouthPark, Park Road Park is a 122-acre urban park. Featuring 8 basketball courts, 2 horseshoe pits, 6 baseball fields, 5 picnic shelters, volleyball courts, playgrounds, trails, tennis courts, a large eleven-acre lake, and large grassy fields, this is a great place to enjoy a sunny day with your dog. When visiting Park Road Park, ensure to keep your dog on their leash as there is no fully enclosed area for your dog to run around safely. If you’re visiting in the summer, we recommend going in the morning or evening to prevent your dog from overheating. Park Road Park is open from sunrise to 10:30 pm in the summer. In the winter this park is open from sunrise to 9:00 pm. This is a great place to spend time with your furry friend, schedule a dog play date with some friends and enjoy a picnic at the park with your favorite four-legged friend at this SouthPark dog park.

    SouthPark Animal Hospital

5240 Park Road Charlotte, NC 28209

A healthy dog is a happy dog. For all of your veterinary needs, SouthPark Animal Hospital is one of Skipper’s favorite vets in SouthPark. If you need a trusted veterinarian to care for your four-legged friend, look no further. Their veterinarian, Wayne Mercer, is licensed in NC and treats all types of pets. Your pet’s health and wellbeing is important to them, as they take every possible measure to give your animals the care they deserve. From appointments, urgent care, emergencies, and after hour emergencies, the SouthPark Animal Hospital offers everything your pet may need. Did you know that puppies need to visit the vet every 3 to 4 weeks until they are 16 weeks old? Dogs need shots for rabies, distemper-parvo, and other diseases. After 1 year, it’s recommended that dogs visit the vet for yearly checkups from ages 1-7. For senior dogs, 7-10+ years old, vets suggest twice-yearly checkups to ensure no behaviors have changed. SouthPark Animal Hospital is open Monday – Friday from 7:30 am- 5:30 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am- 12:00 pm.
